Planning Ahead...
From Dublin
Aer Lingus fly direct from Dublin to Pittsburgh. The simplest door-to-door option. They also fly direct to Cleveland — just under two hours by road from Pittsburgh, if that works out better.
From London
British Airways fly direct from London to Pittsburgh. Easy.
By Rail
Amtrak run a once-daily service to Pittsburgh from New Jersey, with stops in New York and Philadelphia. There are also daily services from Washington DC and Chicago — though fair warning, those are long hauls best suited to the romantically inclined or the well-stocked with podcasts.
Via Philadelphia
Fly into Philadelphia and drive — it's about five hours through Pennsylvania, one of the most beautiful and historically important states in the US. Make a trip of it.
